DIWASS in Practice: We submitted a live cross-border shipment through DIWASS at ROHAL. All companies were successfully registered, and the interface accepted all submitted data – yet the notification failed due to a "missing authorization" error.

The EU has now confirmed the reason: the submission of Annex VII documents via DIWASS has not yet been activated, as agreed by the Member States. Until 31 December 2026, the existing procedure remains in force, meaning Annex VII documents must still be submitted in paper form.

So, for now: registration is possible, submission is not.

Today it's about registration with GADSYS.
In our case, the company was entered twice – plus me under my private name. How did that happen? No idea.
The duplicate company entry was quickly deleted by the trade supervisory office (Gewerbeaufsichtsamt); my private entry with its EORI number is apparently trickier.
My tip: check your own entries now – incorrect registrations can become a problem later when reporting. ♻️

DIWASS – the new EU system for cross-border waste shipments was supposed to have replaced paper long ago. But the current state is sobering: the technology works more badly than well, hardly anyone is registered, and roles and rights are often still not correct.
At least there is a transition period until the end of 2026 – but whether the system will be running smoothly by then? Doubts are justified.
My advice: sort out registration, roles and rights now, not at the last minute. ♻️
